Watch: how the MSO–PC model keeps your med spa compliant

What you will learn

Leave knowing exactly where your practice is exposed

  1. Supervision

Your oversight is a signature, not documented supervision

A name on a contract is not supervision. An auditor looks for a documented chain: who supervised, when, under what standing orders, and where it is recorded. Your medical director is responsible for that record existing and for reviewing it.

    Most common miss: documented supervision
  2. Standing orders

You are treating without approved standing orders

Every service area needs written standing orders and protocols, signed off by the medical director before the first treatment. Add a new device or modality without that sign-off and you are operating outside your own approved scope.

    Most common miss: protocol sign-off
  3. Documentation

Your paperwork is generic, and your state is not

Consent forms, good faith exam records, and delegation rules change from state to state. Templates pulled off the internet do not survive review. Hands-on clinical workshops and state-specific documentation are what close this gap.

    Most common miss: state-specific documentation

The presentation

Walk out with four decisions already made

You bring your state and your license type. We answer both in the live Q&A, not in a follow-up email.

  • 01

Who is legally allowed to own this

The ownership structures that hold up under corporate practice of medicine rules, and the ones that get unwound.

  • 02

What a medical director actually owes you

What real supervision looks like, what it costs, and the questions to ask before you pair with one.

  • 03

Good faith exams without the bottleneck

How the exam requirement works, who can perform it, and how to run same-day treatments without waiting on a provider.

  • 04

Your first 90 days of patients

What actually fills a new chair: the offer, the site, and the local search work. Plus the spend that reliably wastes money.

Who should attend

This webinar is for you if...

  • You are planning to open a med spa
  • You are already operating but unsure about compliance
  • You are adding injectables
  • You are adding medical weight loss
  • You are adding IV therapy
  • You are adding laser services
  • You are expanding into another state
  • You are confused about MSO / PC structures
  • You are unsure your medical director arrangement is enough
  • You need good faith exams
  • You need better protocols and documentation
  • You are confused about what you can and cannot do when starting a med spa

Recognise yourself in even one of these? The hour will pay for itself.

The structure

Understand the MSO–PC model before you sign anything

We walk through it live. You will leave able to explain who can legally own your med spa and where every dollar is allowed to land, which is the part most owners get wrong at setup.

MSO

Management Services Organization

Handles the non-clinical side: facilities, HR, marketing, and operations. Revenue from non-medical services and products is deposited here.

PC

Professional Corporation

Made up of licensed physicians who provide medical care. Patient payments for medical services go into the PC's revenue account.

Ownership, medical practice, and compliance requirements vary by state. Webinar content is educational and is not a substitute for advice from qualified legal or compliance professionals.

Each account covers a specific class of expense. That separation is what keeps the structure compliant and the financial management clean.

Med spa team reviewing compliance structure

What ongoing compliance looks like

Know what has to keep running after you open

All four are covered in the hour, so you leave able to tell whether a provider is actually delivering them.

  • Certified medical directors

Certified providers, experienced in aesthetic medicine, and vetted specifically for compliance experience before they are matched to a practice.

  • Good faith exams

Done by your supervising medical director and their team, with real-time active supervision, so the exam is performed and recorded the way an auditor expects to see it.

  • Essential legal documentation

The Practice Management Binder holds the critical legal documents a med spa needs to operate and stay within regulatory standards.

  • Vital regulatory updates

Rules change. Updates land in your inbox so your practice is not the last to hear about a change in your state.

I am working with WeTreat since July of 2023. They really made me feel comfortable with the whole process, and I felt secure with legal aspects. Very professional, and always there for my business.

Questions we get every week

Free, and yes, we tell you what We Treat does at the end. The rest of the hour is the compliance material, which is useful whether you hire us, hire someone else, or do it yourself.

Two things. Attend the full one-hour presentation, and complete the short survey we send immediately afterward. Both are required. We customize the binder from your survey answers, which is why we cannot build one without it.

Over 330 editable pages in a physical three-ring binder: a customized practice management compliance letter, clinical reference materials, standing orders for each service area, medical director supervision guidelines, signature pages, and the patient consent and good faith exam forms. It is the same binder every We Treat client receives.

The binder requires live attendance for the full hour, so a replay will not qualify you. Use the “next session” form near the bottom of this page and we will email you as soon as the following date is set.

Not always, and this is the single most misunderstood part of the business. It depends on your state's corporate practice of medicine rules and on who performs which treatment. We cover the structures state by state.

We show real ranges on the call, broken into entity and legal, medical oversight, equipment, buildout, and first-90-day marketing. The spread is wide and depends heavily on whether you lease a suite or a full storefront.

The multi-state and supervision sections are what existing owners get the most from, especially if you are adding a location or a new modality. The entity setup portion will be review for you.
